Install visual studio 2015 from Visual Studio There appeared to be a bug in Qt that wasn’t finding the compilers so I went back to Visual Studio 2015. Note Visual Studio 2017 is supposed to work with Qt5.10, but in practice I was not able to get it to work. Unticked redistributable components (already unticked)
Install the Win 7 sdk from a google search for “windows 7 sdk” (needs to be for your version of Windows, the win 7 one appears to really be 8.1) If you don’t have enough (which I initially did not) you get to restart the entire multi hour install after you arrange more disk space. lo…Ī note here before you get bit, you need between 30 and 40 gigabytes of space on your C: drive to install both Visual Studio and Qt. Here is what worked for me to get my development environment up on Ubuntu 16.04: Install Ubuntu 16.04 from their install dvd (just installed and boots on my system without problems). As much documentation as I’m aware of is in although some of it is slightly outdated. So far I’m being unsuccessful on Windows due to problems getting libssh2 to compile to get libgit2 to run. Half way, I can explain how to get it up on Ubuntu 16.04lts Desktop.
